Testing a WordPress theme without interrupting the running blog

You might have noticed: I updated my WordPress theme today. Once I had the new images finished my question was: how to test the results of my changes to the style.css and the header.php without interrupting the running blog?

The answer is a WordPress plugin called Theme Test Drive. Once installed it allows you to select a theme from your themes folder that is displayed only logged in administrators of the blog. Voilà, problem solved: just copy a template version with the changes made into the WordPress theme folder and enable it in Theme Test Drive.

By using this, you didn’t see all the errors I made and had to correct. Very practical…
