Dailies – LXXXI Landesparteitag Grüne BW
November 21st, 2009 -- 5 Comments »
Erste Bilder vom Landesparteitag der Grünen Baden-Württemberg, wo ich gerade als Delegierter sitze. Inzwischen bin ich wieder Ersatzdelegierter, aber so kann ich auch freier auf die Fotos konzentrieren.
Quasi mein erster Live-Blogeintrag.

The Minister of the Interior Wolfgang Schäuble arriving at a CDU election campaign event in Heidelberg on Friday.

I think I might have had the same expression on my face several times during my CDU campaign event visits.

He started somewhat tired (no wonder on the final days of the election campaign), then he seemed to have fun, and finally he shouted at someone asking him a question. Interesting behavior.

That’s it. No, wait, there’s more…

Bar-hopping on Friday night with Fritz Kuhn MdB in Heidelberg. Part for fun, part for campaigning.

Lothar Binding MdB at the SPD’s stand on the Bismarkplatz.

Strange…
And now, finally, the last pictures from this 2009 election campaign. Apparently many people were sick and tired of all the advertisements, even though I was part of it this time I felt pretty much the same. I probably didn’t get the most creative ones, just snapped a few on my way back home.

Another election campaign event by my party.

Theresia Bauer MdL speaking .

Fritz Kuhn MdB speaking.

A kid taking pictures. He did ask the best questions of the evening.

Listening to questions.

Fritz Kuhn MdB, last Saturday on the Bismarkplatz in Heidelberg. The chronology of the dailies got a little messed up lately…

Some of the images I took at the panel discussion between the four members of parliament from Heidelberg, Fritz Kuhn (B90/Grüne), Lothar Binding (SPD), Dirk Niebel (FDP) and Karl Lamers (CDU).
Not knowing the room I took the D5000, the 70-200 F2.8 and the 35 F1.8 with me. I prefer shooting at such events without flash (at least until DHL arrives in the next few days…) but this time it was a bad decision, since they were seated in front of big, bright windows in a poorly lit (but beautiful) room.´
Even so, the D5000 performed great. Had to do some manual exposure compensation and slight Lightroom post processing, but that was about it. And most of these images were shot way above ISO 1600.

He certainly made the much better equipment decision for the room.

Seemed more interesting at the time than the speaker…

Renate Künast, MdB speaking in Heidelberg on an election campaign event. The first time I shot in such a situation, I realized I still need much practice concerning timing and using the available light. At first I started bouncing the flash from the ceiling, but soon I realized that I could get much better pictures by shooting without flash, spot metering on the speakers face doing a manual exposure and focusing manually. Could have used the D5000 here, for it’s much better high ISO capabilities.

Wrong focus point…

A bunch of shots from an election campaign event today. The shot with the cyclists heading towards me resulted in being checked for ID by the police – it was shot in the vicinity of the American military installations in Heidelberg and apparently the Americans got a little nervous about someone photographing there.

Out with Tobias, Jonas, Shooresh and Nona.

Cycling back home. Didn’t realize how much I missed the ultra wide angle of the Sigma 12-24 I sold recently. Luckily another one just happen to fall into my possession yesterday. It might be a soft and slow lens – but it’s still better than having no lens below 24 mm.

Apparently, my abbreviation is “RNZ” ^^ No problem though, I gave up that image for free use.

These didn’t last long. All gone already.

Asphalt bite. One of a few. Hrm.

First time I participated in an event hosted by the party I joined a few weeks ago. Still got to learn how things work, this summer get-together was a nice occasion to get to know people. The shot above shows Fritz Kuhn, MdB giving a short speech at the beginning.

Below are a few shots I took on the way back home.
